Bob Westlake started surfing the English west coast more than fifty years ago.

In the 1960s, the demand grew for Californian-style surfing apparel, this inspired Annie Westlake, Bob's wife, to create some of the earliest board shorts in the United Kingdom and soon after "Alder Sportswear" was born.
