Carver surf skates come in a really wide range of deck sizes, this includes length, widths and wheel bases.
These make a big difference to how the board 'feels' and what it is best suit to.
Generally shorter boards make the boards feel more snappy whilst longer boards feel more glide'y (is that even a word!)
If you are coming from a surf back ground then the below chart should help give a guide to how your surfboard length compares to a Carver Surf Skate deck size:
CARVE SURF SKATE WHEEL BASE
Wheel bases is probable the most overlooked measurement - two boards that are same in length and width but different wheel bases will feel very different.
Short wheel bases means the trucks are closer together, so you have a tighter turning radius. Long means further appart.
SHOP TIP
From experience, bigger boards can feel much shorter with adjustments to your trucks, whilst smaller boards always feel small (and especially when going fast). So if you are torn between two sizes - I would go up a size.
We hope that helps, if you are local please call in we ride Carvers a lot so can help with any questions and boards are coming (and going) all the time.
